Just like how I introduced Lars to farming, he introduced me to his love of Waterloo Blackhawks hockey. I’d been to a hockey game or two back in the day, but I am really enjoying our time at the games (even though COVID-19 has put some serious restrictions on it and the season started super late). Our pre-game ritual is usually a stop at SingleSpeed in Waterloo near Young Arena for a bite to eat and a beer or two.
Lars celebrates his birthday every year at a hockey game on New Year’s Eve. This year, his daughters and I surprised him with a small gathering of both our families at our pre-game activities.
